About Us
The Chicago Underground Blues Experience was dreamt up by
Ruby and John Joven who wanted to show people around the Chicago Blues scene
while still getting our dance on.
Among the multitude of Chicago dancers who have inspired us to make this thing real, are a handful of people who have tirelessly given of their time and energy.
The following people have been instrumental by contributing their resources in terms of web hosting, graphic design, mailing list creation, web site design, photography, venue scouting, money fronting, band researching, google mapping, late-night restaurant investigation, friendship bracelet-making, mass emailing and general idea generation: Joachim Hill-Grannec, Tessa Auza, Lydia Breen, Marnie Goodfriend, Keir Briscoe, Jason Young, Andrea Tartaro, Rich Chang, Richard Power, Evin Galang, Ruby, John Joven, and the University of Chicago Swing Dance Society (for the sound system!).
